“Ukraine is constantly working to create favorable business-environment,” Viktor Yanukovych noted.
In the course of his speech at the Ukrainian-Czech business-forum, the Head of State stressed that the main factors for that were the functioning of the Council of Investors under the President of Ukraine and the application of the law on state-private partnership.
“We are working with famous consulting companies of the world level and attracting investors to this work,” Viktor Yanukovych said.
In that context, the Head of State urged Ukrainian and Czech investors to cooperate actively. “I am confident that we will create all the conditions and welcome such cooperation,” the President emphasized.
Viktor Yanukovych named several examples of successful cooperation with Czech partners. Particularly, Czech enterprise “Kvazar Plus” successfully functions in Ukrainian market. Also, French-Czech company “Cegelec” begins the production of trolleybuses for the EU market jointly with Ukrainian corporation “Bogdan”. The Head of State reminded that the given company in cooperation with Lviv bus factory had produced trolleybuses for Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk in the framework of preparations to EURO-2012.
Another successful example of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation is the production of dual-system six-axial electric locomotives with usage of Ukrainian components held jointly with “Škoda Transportation” in the framework of the program for restoring national locomotive fleet.
According to the Head of State, the work on the improvement of permission documentation, simplification of business opening and regulation of relations between the controlling bodies and enterprises is held in the framework of implementation of economic reforms in Ukraine.
“The state must create conditions. Ukraine has been conducting systemic reforms since 2010. The laws adopted recently are aimed at the improvement of business and investment climate in our state. In the framework of the Program of Economic Reforms for 2010-2014, we have already made a series of important steps,” the President said.
The President reminded that the new Customs Code elaborated under the world standards had entered into force on June 1, 2012.
In addition, according to Viktor Yanukovych significant attention is paid to the struggle against corruption and corporate raiding. Particularly, the work is held to improve anti-corruption legislation in order to eliminate a series of gaps and increase the efficiency of struggle against corruption.
“We are working jointly with international experts. We have restored the work of the Interagency Commission on Protection of the Rights of Investors and Combating Illegal Acquisition and Seizure of Enterprises. This commission is aimed at the elaboration and implementation of efficient mechanisms of combating raiding. This problem exists but we are working over it,” the Head of State noted.
The President stressed that positive changes in economic and legislative sphere of our state had also been reflected in the international ratings. According to the last rating of competitiveness published by the Swiss Institute of Management Development, Ukraine has raised from the 56th to the 49th position.
