Ukraine is currently working on a new program with the International Monetary Fund due to the deteriorating situation in the east.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has announced this on the air of the Bloomberg Europe TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We have prepared a memorandum. This will be a new memorandum and a new program. If we finish it today, I and Christine Lagarde will make a joint statement,” he said.

The President has also noted that the new program expands cooperation with the IMF and the range of reform in Ukraine, which, however, still needs to be agreed.

At the same time, Ukrainian President stresses that Ukraine requires significant funds from the IMF.

The President also assures that the team of world leaders who are willing to lend financial support to Ukraine has formed in Davos. In particular, this group includes the EU, USA, Middle East countries, Canada and Japan.
